Interior Home Design and Staging by Kurt Cyr – Our Partner in Design

Passion for design has given Kurt opportunities to use his knowledge and enthusiasm in far greater ways than he would have ever thought possible when he graduated with a degree in interior design. 

Interior Home Design
For over 25 years, Kurt has designed and decorated homes for clients.

“My philosophy is to draw upon the personality of the client and create for them a highly personal home that addresses their wants and needs.  It is important the finished product reflects my client’s personality, not mine  My role is that of gentle guide.”

Creative Director & Product Designer
As creative director for a manufacturer, Kurt Cyr has translated clients’ ideas into products.  As well as designing new product lines, he has overseen their fabrication at the factory in China. 

Design Writing
Writing design articles gives Kurt a forum to express opinions and theories on design in a more detailed format. As a writer, the goal is to educate readers about design. 

“My goal is to show how good design can improve the daily lives for those who may find it intimidating or even superfluous.”

In addition to monthly articles and design columns for magazines and newspapers, he also takes the opportunity to write voice-over scripts for several shelter television shows.

“I authored a DIY table-scaping how-to book, Centerpieces through the Year.”

Design  Teaching & Speaking
As a lecturer, Kurt taught design classes at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), Los Angeles.  These included Human Factors in Design and Green Design.

“My fervor for design and decorating, has put me in front of the camera as well.  I have appeared on numerous shelter design television shows demonstrating DIY design projects and discussing my decorating and design theories.”
